Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site
Bent's Old Fort Site
Found just east of Pueblo in the town of La Junta, Bent’s Old Fort National Monument is an interactive and reconstructed historic site.
The site was originally a trading post for the Southern Cheyenne and Araphaho Plains Native Americans and early settlers William and Charles Bent.
Today, visitors of the southern Colorado attraction enjoy the historian-led living history tours, seasonal events, and interactive exhibits.
Outdoor enthusiasts looking to experience the scenery can embark on Bent’s Old Fort Hiking Trail – the 1.5-mile trail following the Arkansas River through a thickett of cottonwood trees.
