Castlewood Canyon State Park
Spread across 2,621 acres, Castlewood Canyon State Park features a wide choice of recreational activities south of the Denver metro area. Some of the more popular choices include hiking along Cherry Creek, birding, horseback riding, rock climbing, and picnicking.
The primarily attraction is the Castlewood Canyon Dam – which burst in 1933 – though the remnants are still visible today. Make sure to take a few moments to stroll through the Art Exhibit at the Visitor Center as well – located a short drive from Castle Rock.
