Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
Known as "America's longest and highest narrow gauge railroad," the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad has been running along the rails in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico for over 100 years. Passengers depart from Antonito or from Chama, New Mexico, and view magnificent Rocky Mountain scenery along the way.
Highlights along the trip include traveling along the rim of the 800-foot deep Toltec Gorge – through Mud Tunnel, Rock Tunnel, and crossing the 137-foot tall Cascade Trestle. The operating season stretches from the end of May through the middle of October, with a variety of departing times.
