From: the north: ( From the south (from New Mexico): Take Highway 550 North. Follow Highway 550 into Colorado and to Durango. Highway 550 will merge with Highway 160 as it travels through town. You will go through five traffic lights after the highways merge. At the sixth stoplight, Highway 160 turns to the left and Highway 550 continues straight. Follow Highway 160 to the left and the BEST WESTERN Durango Inn and Suites will be about one mile up the road on your left.

From: the east (from the D From the west (from Cortez and Four Corners Monument): Take Highway 160 East. Just as you enter Durango on Highway 160, the BEST WESTERN Durango Inn and Suites will be on the right.

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

Durango-La Plata County Airport

The Durango-La Plata County Airport, located ten miles southeast of Durango, remains the main airport in the Four Corners area of Colorado. Daily commercial flights to Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth and Phoenix are available via US Airways, United Express and American Eagle. Fort Lewis College

Founded in 1911, Fort Lewis College is a public school found in Durango – one of the top institutions in southern Colorado. Fort Lewis was originally constructed as a Army base in 1878, then later decommissioned in 1891, becoming a college in 1911. Situated on 247 pristine southern Colorado acres, Fort Lewis College is an excellent destination if you're looking for history, or if you're looking at colleges with your high school senior.

Navajo State Park
