Box Canyon Falls Park

Located in Ouray, the "Switzerland of America", Box Canyon Falls Park features the breathtaking waterfall created from Canyon Creek. Take the short hike to the bridge above the falls and admire the beautiful views, or walk to the bottom to listen to the water rush into the canyon. Either way, it's a delight.

Officially completed in the 1880s, the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a historic train taking passengers from Durango to Silverton.

Along the way, passengers enjoy exceptional views of the Animas River, in the shadows of 14,000-foot peaks of the San Juan National Forest.

Train rides are offered throughout the year, like the Cascade Canyon Winter Train, Peanuts the Easter Beagle Express, Day Out With Thomas, and the Native American Heritage Train.

Durango-La Plata County Airport

Located 10 miles southeast of Durango, Durango-La Plata Airport remains the main airport in the Four Corners area of Colorado. Daily commercial flights to Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Phoenix are available via US Airways, United Express, and American Eagle.

Fort Lewis College

Founded in 1911, Fort Lewis College is a public school found in Durango, and one of the top institutions in southern Colorado. Situated on 247 pristine southern Colorado acres, Fort Lewis College is an excellent destination if you're looking for history, or if you're looking at colleges with your high school senior. 

Be sure to enjoy the stunning views of the La Plata Mountains on your tour of the FLC campus. Check out the FLC Community Concert Hall which seats 600 people, the John F. Reed Memorial Library, and the McPherson Chapel – all top attractions on campus. In sports the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in sports like basketball, golf, soccer, and volleyball.

A unique region to say the least, the Four Corners Monument marks the intersection of the only place in the United States where four states meet.

While on the marker in your best "Twister-pose", you can be in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona at the same time.

The monument is maintained by the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department and is also the boundary between the Navajo Nation and Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation.

While visiting the Four Corners region, another must-see area attraction is Mesa Verde National Park.

Million Dollar Highway

Following a section of U.S. Route 550, the Million Dollar Highway travels from Silverton to Ouray in southern Colorado. A part of the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway, this section also runs along-side the historic Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Running through the Uncompahgre Gorge to the Red Mountain Pass at 11,000 feet, you'll drive past steep cliffs, and through hairpin "S" curves on narrow lanes cutting into the mountains. Although disputed, the origin of the name stems from costing a million dollars to build, during the 1920s.

Montrose County Fair & Rodeo

For over 125 years, the Montrose County Fair and Rodeo has offered rodeo fun and western heritage for all southern Colorado visitors. The 10-day festivities include a Junior livestock show, CPRA Rodeo, ranch rodeo, horse shows and a tractor pull.

Kids enjoy competing in the junior shows including the dog agility, rabbit show, Working Ranch Show, sheep show, and goat show. Build a float for entry in the fair parade and have fun cruising through town. Submit your best chili for the Chili Cook-Off or arrive hungry for the pie-eating contest.

Montrose Regional Airport

Located north of Montrose, the Montrose Regional Airport has provided air travel service since 1988. The airport provides a variety of services for southern Colorado travelers, including Commercial flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, Atlanta, Denver, Houston, and Chicago, are available via American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines.

As the closest airport to Telluride, many passengers fly into the airport to make their way to Telluride Ski Resort, for fun on the ski slopes. The Jetway Cafe, the gift shop, rental car agencies, and convenient parking, are additional services available at the airport.

Navajo State Park

Established in 1964, Navajo State Park encompasses more than 5,000 acres of land and 15,000 surface acres of water in Navajo Lake. Known as the "Lake Powell of Colorado," Navajo Lake boasts of 150 miles of shoreline, perfect for plenty of water recreation.

Utilize the park's 110-foot boat ramp to launch your boat for a fun day on the water. Swimming, water skiing, horseback riding, hunting, hiking, picnicking, biking, and cross-country skiing are all great ways to spend time in this beautiful southern Colorado state park.
