Most Popular Area Attractions
First constructed in 1893, the Argo Gold Mine, Mill, and Museum is now a National Historic Site and must-see for Idaho Springs visitors. The historic Argo Tunnel helped put the site on the map, as it was used to transport ore from the mines, stretching 4.5 miles to Central City.

Covering over 600 skiable acres, Breckenridge Ski Resort is located in the historic mining town of Breckenridge in central Colorado, and offers a wide range of recreational activities. At the Breckenridge ski area, skiers have a choice of 155 ski runs, including a 25-acre terrain park. The resort's 16 lifts and gondola services over 37,000 skiers per hour.

Also known as Dillon Lake, Dillon Reservoir is a recreation area owned and operated by Denver Water. Dillon Reservoir straddles the towns of Dillon, where it is located, and Frisco Bay.
Dillon Reservoir’s approximately 27 miles of shoreline can be accessed by boat via marinas in both Dillon and Frisco Bay. Boats, kayaks, and other watercraft are available for rent, however swimming and water skiing are not permitted.
The lands surrounding the reservoir offer beautiful scenery and an opportunity to enjoy nature with hiking and biking available in the summer and ice fishing and hunting in the winter months. Dillon is easily accessible from many locations due to its close proximity to the Denver area.
Georgetown Loop Railroad
Completed in 1884, the Georgetown Loop Railroad is a historic, engineering marvel, bringing passengers from Georgetown to Silver Plume.
Take a ride and don't miss the horseshoe curves, crossing over Clear Creek on four bridges, and seeing some of best scenery outside of the Denver metropolitan area.
Visitors can also tour the historic 1870s Lebanon Silver Mine at the halfway point of the trip.
