Four Corners Monument

The Four Corners Monument marks the intersection of the only place in the United States where four states meet. While on the marker in your best "Twister-pose", you can be in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona at the same time. The monument is maintained by the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department and is also the boundary between the Navajo Nation and Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation.

While visiting the Four Corners region, another must-see area attraction is Mesa Verde National Park. Consider staying with Best Western hotels in Cortez, located seven miles from the park entrance. The staff provides wonderful guest services for southwest Colorado visitors.

Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde National Park was the first park established to "preserve the works of man" - and includes 600 cliff dwellings, which are some of the best preserved in America. The Ancestral Pueblo people lived in the dwellings from A.D. 600 to A.D. 1300. An additional 3,000 archeological sites including mesa top pueblos, farming terraces, towers and reservoirs are also found in the park.

The park is located in the "archaeological heartland of the United States" in southwestern Colorado. Spend a day exploring the park on a ranger-led tour to really appreciate these magnificent structures. Take a break in Cortez and relax as a guest of Best Western hotels, seven miles from the park.
